Our story began with a simple problem: Ben’s partner was a self-proclaimed serial plant killer. She had unintentionally killed every plant she’d ever owned—except for one resilient cactus that survived six years and four house moves. When they decided to redecorate, she wanted to bring the living room to life with plants but was terrified at the prospect of keeping them alive.

Drawing on his background in biology and technology, Ben realised there had to be a solution. After numerous prototypes and countless hours of testing and refining, he developed a smart plant sensor that monitors and provides real-time feedback on moisture, light, temperature, and nutrients. Their plants began to thrive, and soon friends were asking if they could have one.

Inspired by the enthusiasm, we decided to take the product to Kickstarter. The response blew us away: we hit our funding goal in just 17 minutes, raised over £130,000, and gained more than 1,400 customers in 30 days—placing us in the top 1% of all-time Kickstarter campaigns.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have this passionate community join us on the final stages of our product launch journey. Their engagement and feedback have been invaluable in shaping the development of the app and sensor, making the product so much better.

Since then, our team has grown, and we’re excited to get our smart plant sensor into the hands of plant parents everywhere. Together, we’re helping plants—and their owners—thrive.
